Peacefully in hospital blessed by the love of his family on Friday, September 15, 2017, aged 83 years. Married to his soul mate Maralyn Joynt for 58 years. Dad and friend to his precious daughters Brenda Lee (Brian O’Farrell) and Kathleen (Benoit Regimbald). Devoted grandfather to Renee Regimbald and Alannah O’Farrell. Brother of Enid Rabb of Smiths Falls, Lorraine (Gaston Tremblay) of Thunder Bay and Dallas (Brian Reinke) of Ottawa. He will be sadly missed by numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Dr. J.A. Kearns and Juliette Richard, sisters Adele (Roy Thomas), Moira (Harry Ottenhof) and brother-in-law Jack Rabb. Fondly remembered by Maralyn’s family Wayne (Marilyn) Joynt and Norma-Lee (Warren) Churchill. Richard was employed by the Canadian Pacific Railway as a Rail Traffic Controller for 35 years. An avid outdoorsman, hockey player, hockey fan, and gifted storyteller who enjoyed playing his guitar. A life well lived.
