Bursary Catholic Women’s League St Patrick Fallowfield

PURPOSE
This Bursary is to assist post-secondary education.

CRITERIA
Who is eligible?
Student parishioners of St Patrick Fallowfield Parish, currently in their graduating year, who will be attending a Canadian post-secondary institution in the fall to pursue a course of study leading to a degree or diploma from an accredited university or community college of their choice, are eligible.

APPLICATION
Applications are available on the Parish website during the month of May. The completed application and supporting documents must be returned by June 7th, 2021, addressed to the attention of the Chairperson, CWL Bursary Committee. The award will be announced no later than June 30th, 2021.

SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS
The following supporting documents must be included with the application:
· Letter of recommendation from a teacher at your school.
· Copy of your baptismal and confirmation certificate.
· Transcript of your current mid-term marks or up-to-date high school transcript.
· Explanation in writing, by the applicant, of how they demonstrate each of the core Catholic faith formation values of faith, hope, love, dignity of the person, excellence, community, stewardship for creation and justice. The candidate should speak to these areas in terms of their experience. Please see the Bursary Appendix to help guide you in completing the application.

AWARD
$ 750.00 will be awarded. The presentation will be made to the winning student after mass by a CWL council member. Congratulation announcement will follow in the parish bulletin.

RECEIPT OF AWARD
Upon acceptance to a university or community college, a copy of that acceptance must be mailed or given to the CWL. Following this, the CWL will issue a cheque to the recipient.

GUIDELINE
The applicant’s studies (attendance at university or college) must commence within one year of the receipt of the award.
