This year, our parish enters a remarkable milestone: the 160th anniversary of our founding. While the official anniversary date falls on October 21, we begin our celebration now, marking not just a moment in time, but a living story that continues to unfold in our midst.
There is much for which we give thanks.
In recent years, we have witnessed the restoration of our church, the beauty of sacred art adorning its ceiling, and the quiet devotion inspired by the Grotto of Our Lady of the Fields. These are not simply projects completed, they are visible signs of a parish that is not only alive, but flourishing. At 160 years, ours is not a community looking back with nostalgia, but one moving forward with vitality. We are, in every sense, 160 years young.
Yet, the true strength of our parish has never been found in brick or stone, but in its people.
It is found in you, those who gather here in faith, who worship within these walls, and who build up the Body of Christ through acts of service and charity. From the faithful work of the Knights of Columbus and the Catholic Women’s League, to the compassionate outreach of our Pastoral Care Team, to the tireless and often unseen work of our Liturgy Team who help make our worship prayerful and beautiful, to the choirs and music ministry whose voices lift our hearts in praise, this parish is what it is because of you.
This anniversary belongs to you.
This is your celebration.
This is your home.
Together, you have built it, through faith, sacrifice, and love.
Throughout this anniversary year, we will be announcing special events, programs, and a few surprises as we prepare for our solemn celebration in October. The weekend of October 17–18 will be filled with special events and celebrations marking this milestone, with more details to follow in the months ahead. At the same time, we will mark this year not only in celebration, but in mission through acts of charity, the strengthening of existing ministries, and the introduction of new initiatives to serve our community. As we give thanks for 160 years, we remain mindful that our purpose is not only to celebrate what has been, but to continue the work we are called to do.
Stay tuned. Stay close. There is much more to come.
And above all, let us continue—together—to build a parish that will stand strong for generations yet to come.
