On the First Sunday of Lent, we take up the Diocesan & Missionary Works special collection in support of the Archbishop’s Fund for Mission Advancement. This fund enables Archbishop Damphousse to respond prayerfully to needs and opportunities that further the mission of the Church, especially here in our Archdiocese, on behalf of all the faithful.
Most funds raised remain within our diocese, strengthening initiatives related to evangelization and outreach, ministry to youth and families, Catholic education and campus ministry, and other charitable works supporting community needs.
Last year, over $60,000 was raised. This year, our goal is $100,000. Thank you for your generosity and for helping our local Church to Go Out, Go Deep, Go Together.

FAQ
This collection supports the Archbishop’s Fund for Mission Advancement. Your gift helps Archbishop Damphousse respond quickly and generously to needs and opportunities that strengthen the mission of the Church, both here in our diocese and beyond.
Most of the money stays right here in the Archdiocese of Ottawa–Cornwall. It supports ministries and initiatives that bring our diocesan vision to life, including evangelization and outreach, youth and family ministry, Catholic education, and campus ministry. Some examples of initiatives funded last year include a young adult Jubilee pilgrimage to Rome, support for single mothers, a youth trip to the Steubenville conference, and assistance for several local Catholic independent schools.
Funds also help charitable works that respond to community needs, from affordable housing initiatives to child abuse prevention and treatment, to pro-life advocacy. Some donations are also used to support missional and charitable needs beyond our diocese.
Giving through this fund makes a real difference. It lets the Archbishop respond prayerfully and generously to needs as they arise, and it allows him to invest in ministries and projects that move our missionary heart while also directly benefiting those in our local communities.
