Confirmation

At present, the Sacrament of Confirmation is received by the children in our parish school (Saint Anne) as a group.

Children from our parish who attend other schools, may join in this Sacrament at the same time.  Please contact the office for more information.

The events leading to Confirmation begin with a parents’ information meeting followed by an Enrolment Sunday at all the Masses. The children are presented to the parish community with their commitment form that they and their parents have signed.

A confirmation card is sent home through the school. The card must be filled out with the complete address of the parish of Baptism where it will be sent for the recording of the Confirmation in the records of that church. The names of the parents, including the mother’s maiden name, are also required on this form.

Instruction for the Sacrament of Confirmation is provided by the teachers and the parish priests as part of the Religion course in the schools. Children receive Confirmation in Grade 6.

Adults who wish to be accepted into full communion with the Roman Catholic Church are asked to see the section on Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults –RCIA
