Lectors as Ministers of the Word proclaim the word of God in the assembly. They prepare the readings through review and practice and by prayer and reflection. This ministry enlivens the printed word. Lectors and commentators share their respective roles as they exercise their ministry in the community. Commentators assist the community by calling the assembly to worship, leading them in prayer, and making known to them important information and events.
